The Miami Dolphins are benching quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and will start rookie Quinn Ewers in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported Wednesday, per sources.
Tagovailoa led Miami to a 6-8 record in 14 starts this season, completing 67.7% of his passes for 2,660 yards, 20 touchdowns and a league-high 15 interceptions.
Ewers, a seventh-round rookie out of Texas, completed 5 of 8 passes in his one regular-season appearance this season.
