Disney icon’s ‘near-perfect’ series on Netflix and it’s soaring up the charts
Netflix subscribers are in for a treat as a highly praised drama series featuring an exceptional cast has just landed on the platform. Initially broadcast on US channel TV Land before moving to Paramount+ and Hulu for its seventh and final series, Younger is now accessible to UK viewers on the popular streaming service.
The show, created by Darren Star of Sex and the City and Emily in Paris fame, centres on Liza Miller (played by Sutton Foster), a 40 year old divorced mum who decides to return to work following her marriage breakdown. After being complimented on her youthful looks, Liza pretends to be 26 to secure a position as an assistant, but quickly finds it challenging to maintain the deception whilst managing her complicated personal life.
Younger is ideal for viewers who enjoy similar comedy-dramas and is essential viewing for those who have already watched classics like Gilmore Girls, The Bold Type and Gossip Girl multiple times, reports the Mirror.

Additionally, it features Disney star Hilary Duff as Liza’s new best friend, alongside a brilliant supporting cast including Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella and Molly Bernard. Fans of the less well-known programme insist it’s definitely worth watching, and it’s already climbing the Netflix rankings, currently positioned at number seven in the top 10 TV shows.
The Atlantic gave it a favourable review at the time, calling it “a fairy tale fit for basic cable, is a treacly confection of a show: witty but not wise, delightful but not deep.
