Cavs’ Lonzo Ball heads into revenge game vs. Bulls with absolutely ghastly shooting numbers

Over the offseason, the Cleveland Cavs were thought by many to have pulled off a shrewd deal when they traded Isaac Okoro to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Lonzo Ball. Instead, Ball has been an absolute disaster for the Cavs so far this year at the backup point guard position, causing some to wonder whether or not Kenny Atkinson may opt to pull him from the lineup entirely.
Currently, Ball is shooting a frosty 29% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc, despite being known as a relatively efficient scorer at the guard position throughout his career. While he is averaging nearly five assists and playing some solid defense, it’s difficult for the team to justify giving him minutes with his shooting splits being that poor.
The Cavs as a whole have performed well below expectations this year, currently sitting at 15-12 as Christmas approaches. Cleveland most recently dropped a home game to the Charlotte Hornets in which they scored zero (0) points in overtime, and have also lost other puzzling home contests against the injured Golden State Warriors and other seemingly inferior opponents.

Donovan Mitchell has held up his end of the bargain, averaging north of 30 points per game for the Cavs so far this year, but virtually everyone else on the roster has either regressed or otherwise not performed up to expectations so far this year, giving the Cavs their current mediocre record.
In any case, Ball will look to exact some revenge on his former Bulls teammates on Wednesday evening when the Cavs travel to the Windy City. That game is set to tip off at 8:00 pm ET from the United Center.
