Markstrom stopped 13 of 15 in the 2-1 loss to Vancouver Sunday. Before that, he was pulled Thursday after allowing 3 goals on 7 shots against Tampa Bay. He’s struggling as his GAA is more than a full goal higher than last season. He stopped 22 of 25 against Vegas Dec. 5.
Schmid is running as the starter with Adin Hill (lower body) out. Hill stopped 17 of 19 in his most recent start Thursday as the Golden Knights won 3-2 in overtime in Philadelphia. He shut out the Devils Dec. 5, stopping all 24 shots fired his way.

Golden Knights 4, Devils 2
Jersey is too banged up for me to put any faith in. That said, VGK is too expensive to consider.
Instead, take MITCH MARNER OVER 0.5 ASSISTS (-135). He has a helper in 4 of 5 games and 6 during the stretch.
I’ll take GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+135). Markstrom has been bad this year, and his GAA is 3.94 on the road as opposed to 3.21 at home.
Vegas is 4-5-1 O/U in its last 10, and Jersey is 4-6. Take the OVER 5.5 (-102), and here’s why. Before Sunday’s 2-1 loss on the tail end of a back-to-back, the Devils had 4 goals in 3 straight games. We essentially need them to get 2 here.
