NJCPA Raises Over $30K for Community FoodBank of NJ

The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) recently raised $30,443 in online donations and delivered 2,065 pounds of nonperishable items and canned goods to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) as part of its 16th annual food drive.
Sponsored by the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council, the November food drive collected food items at its Roseland office and various member offices and included a volunteer day at the FoodBank in Hillside.
The Community FoodBank of New Jersey distributes food to more than 800 community partners and over 90 million meals annually. According to the CFBNJ, nearly 12% of New Jerseyans are food insecure. The NJCPA has donated approximately 25,000 pounds of food items to the FoodBank since 2010.
“Hunger affects so many New Jerseyans. The Food Drive is a great way to give back to the local communities we are all a part of. Whether through volunteering at the FoodBank’s packing facility or providing monetary donations, it’s important to get involved,” said Joseph Hunt, CPA, PSA, manager in the nonprofit group at CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) LLP and chair of the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council.
