NCAA women’s volleyball regionals: Results, highlights, recap

No. 3 Wisconsin shocked No. 1 Texas, 3-1, inside Gregory Gym in Austin, TX. The Badgers earned the final ticket to the national semifinal with the four set win.
Inside a bouncing Greg Gym, Wisconsin came out firing on all cylinders, winning the first two sets 25-22 and 25-21 despite some late-set Longhorn surges.
Texas responded in the third, winning the do-or-die set 25-20 after a 5-1 run to push the match to four sets.
After starting Set 4 in a 0-4 deficit, the Badgers went on a 11-4 run to flip the momentum back on their side. Their dynamic defense held the Longhorns to just .158 on hitting on the way to the 25-19 win that clinched the match and a trip to Kansas City.
Mimi Colyer led all players with 23 kills on a .309 clip while Carter Booth had 11 kills on 18 swings and a pair of blocks to supercharge her team.
Wisconsin handed Texas its first regional final loss at home since 2021 when the Longhorns fell to Nebraska.
Eight of the last 10 national semifinals have featured either Texas or Nebraska. With both a Longhorn and Husker loss today, Kansas City will welcome two No. 3 seeds in Wisconsin and Texas A&M.
The Badgers will face Kentucky in the national semifinal in Kansas City on Thursday, Dec. 18, their first since 2023.
