Winnipeg police looking for 2 men who allegedly attempted to abduct child walking to school

Winnipeg police say two men allegedly tried to lure a school-aged child into a van on Tuesday afternoon.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the child was walking to school near Beverley Street and Sargent Avenue on Tuesday around 1 p.m. when they were approached by a white van.
Two men reportedly exited the van and tried offering the child candy and a ride.
The child refused and ran to the school and reported the incident to a staff member. Police were then contacted, and an investigation is underway.
It is believed the men were wearing face masks and black clothing at the time of the alleged incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
