Princess Kate, Prince William release annual Christmas card with kids

Princess Kate gives first public speech in two years

Princess Kate returns to the podium at the UK Future Workforce Summit, her first speech in the two years since her cancer diagnosis.

Prince William and Princess Kate are ringing in the holidays with a time-honored tradition.

The royal couple released their annual Christmas card Thursday, posing alongside their three children in a green meadow dotted with daffodils. The deep green of the grass appeared to be the theme for the shot, in which William sports a matching sweater over a baby blue button-down. Kate opts for a deep brown sweater atop a white shirt, pairing it with plaid bottoms.

Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, all smiled for the camera in similarly earth-toned outfits. Charlotte wore a patterned green sweater and scarf, while George opted for a brown vest and Louis wore a similar sweater to his father.

“Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas,” the caption for the card, posted to the couple’s Instagram account, read. The image was shot by photographer Josh Shinner in April 2025.

The Christmas card caps a tumultuous year for the royal family, who weathered both scandal and illness. Both King Charles III and Kate have slowly returned to royal duties this year after facing separate cancer battles. Kate shared earlier this year that she was in remission, following a 2024 announcement that she had been battling cancer and was undergoing “a course of preventive chemotherapy treatment.”

The palace has also faced scrutiny for its handling of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, and his ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Earlier this year, King Charles, Andrew’s brother, stripped him of his royal titles.
