Virginia Tech’s ideal new QB just entered transfer portal, has James Franklin-Penn State connection

If James Franklin wants to find his first Virginia Tech starting quarterback in the transfer portal, he’s now got a good place to start.
Beau Pribula plans to enter the portal, according to On3 Sports.
Pribula most recently played at Missouri, but he began his college career at Penn State under Franklin.
With the Nittany Lions, Pribula was often used in a run-specific role.
Across two PSU seasons, Pribula completed 37-of-56 passes for 424 yards with nine touchdowns and only one interception. He also ran 94 times for 571 yards and 10 more TDs.
Pribula parlayed that into a transfer to Mizzou for this season. With the Tigers, although he missed a couple games with injury, Pribula was very strong.
This season, Pribula completed 182-of-270 passes, a 67.4%. He threw for 1,941 yards and 11 touchdowns (nine INTs).
Pribula also ran 95 times for 297 yards and six touchdowns.
There are a lot of QBs planning to enter the portal, and Franklin could have his eye on a number of different players.
But it’s not obvious whether players will begin flocking to Blacksburg right away or instead be hoping for a bit of a proof of concept.
Pribula could be an exception. He knows Franklin. If their relationship is on solid ground, it could be the perfect partnership.
