‘It’s a miracle they remain open’ – schools asking pupils to bring in toilet roll because they can’t afford basic supplies

A primary school in Co Louth that was forced to ask children to bring in their own toilet paper after it couldn’t afford basic hygiene supplies has said it has been inundated with donations from businesses and parents.

Darver National School held a fundraising concert this week and said many parents didn’t realise the extent of schools’ struggles with finances.
