Water main break in Wheaton closes southbound lanes of Georgia Ave, University Blvd

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A water main break in Wheaton, Maryland, is causing traffic and delays, officials said.
People are working to shut off the main break at southbound Georgia Avenue and University Boulevard, a WSSC Water spokesperson said.

Officials will need to mark all underground utilities in the area for WSSC workers to start digging. Once the broken pipe is exposed, WSSC Water will be able to diagnose the needed repairs and provide a timeline for repairs, the spokesperson said.
Once the water is turn off, WSSC Water will be able to provide a timeline and estimate the number of affected customers, said the spokesperson.
