Rumours swirl, star wiped from wife’s page

Jules Neales has posted a damning statement on Instagram suggesting her marriage to Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale has completely broken down.
A report emerged on Friday the high-profile couple was “working through” private issues.
Rumours of a marriage breakdown have been swirling since social media users spotted the popular mother-of-two had wiped the two-time Brownlow Medal winner from her Instagram page.

Jules, 35, has now responded to those reports in a shocking post on Instagram.
“I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything,” she wrote.
“I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.
“All I can do now is to to heal and do what’s best for my children.
“Thank you for the love and support. Jules x.”
The Herald Sun initially reported the “working through” line.
According to the report, Jules may have returned to Perth, where her family is based.
Her post suggests their marriage is now in enormous peril.
They share two children, four year-old Piper and a son Freddie, who was born in December, 2024.
She celebrated her son’s first birthday this week with a series of photos shared with her Instagram followers.
The 32-year-old footballer did not feature in any of the photos.
He is not visible in any of the pictures on her Instagram page, dating back to 2012.
Her celebratory post this week did not reference her partner.
“Turning 1 today. This little man, and his beautiful big sister have taught me what real love, courage, and joy look like,” she posted.
“You’re the sweetest soul Freddie bear. Thank you for choosing me, for holding me up without even knowing it. I’m so lucky to be your mumma and I love you beyond words x.”
Jules in April described their marriage as “solid”.
She told The Sunday Mail: “Every relationship has different pressures, it’s important to keep the outside noise out, in any relationship regardless of it being in the public eye, unfortunately, it’s inevitable that people are going to have their own opinion.
“I think Lachie and I have a really solid relationship, which is all that really matters.”
Jules has become a popular figure with Brisbane Lions fans and has amassed a following of 27,000 Instagram followers as a lifestyle influencer, hairstylist and Brownlow Medal red carpet show-stealer.
The couple showed no sign they were experiencing marriage issues when they appeared on the Brownlow Medal red carpet together in September.
They were also arm-in-arm posing for photos together ahead of the Brisbane Lions’ Club Champion awards night in October.
Their relationship has previously faced challenges.
The couple were rocked in 2021 when some social media users blamed Jules for Lachie’s bombshell trade link with a return to Fremantle.
According to reports, the footballer was considering a move back to Western Australia to be closer to Jules’ family as they prepared to welcome first child Piper Rose.
The two-time AFL premiership winner has previously spoken out to defend his partner.
“It was disappointing maybe my character and Jules’ character got questioned,” he said.
“I think I got called a manipulator and people were saying I was doing it for money, which certainly wasn‘t the case. If I’d left, I’d probably take less money to go back.
“We had camera people outside our house for three or four days, which was pretty off.
“Jules was getting messages from randoms, which was pretty vile.
“The fact nothing even came of it was the most disappointing thing, that people were trying to attack my character and hers. That was the disappointing part, but I can‘t control that.
“I feel like I’m a pretty loyal person, an honest person.”
While dealing with challenges away from football, Neale had a fairytale year on the field.
He battled a painful foot issue in the weeks leading up to the club’s grand final victory over Geelong.
Picked as the team’s substitute, he kicked a second-half goal that had teammates celebrating wildly.
The Lions also won the 2024 AFL premiership and are strong favourites to make it a three in a row in 2026.
He was recognised as the game’s greatest player when winning the Brownlow Medal in 2020 and 2023.
