Auckland FC and 2degrees launch SupportHER Football Festival

A new football festival for girls aged between 7 and 10 has been launched by Auckland FC and 2degrees.
Part of the telco’s SupportHER campaign, the festival is designed to develop a love of the game, as well as building confidence, resilience and friendships.
Taking place at Keith Hay Park on Saturday, 28 March 2026, more than 500 girls are expected to attend what will be one of the biggest single days of female football in the country.
Auckland FC will be organising the festival, providing coaches, referees and bringing the vibes, with some game-day favourites popping up on site including the AFC inflatable obstacle course, hunger ball and more.
Annalie Longo is a New Zealand international with 140 Football Ferns caps. She’s supporting the tournament in her role as Auckland FC women’s football spokesperson and will be involved on the day.
“Auckland has been desperate for a festival of this type and scale for a while now, so I am stoked to see Auckland FC and 2degrees bring it to life,” says Longo.
“It will help remove those barriers to participation and encourage girls to stay in sport. I can’t wait to see all those happy, smiling faces, running around and enjoying sport. I wish there was more of this when I was young.”
As an Official Auckland FC Premium Partner, 2degrees is proud to support the festival through its SupportHER Club initiative, which champions keeping women and girls engaged in sport at every level
“At 2degrees, we believe in keeping young girls in the game, it’s part of who we are as a company and our commitment to Fighting for Fair,” says Anna Gorman, Senior Sponsorship & Community Manager at 2degrees.
“As well as being a realisation of that commitment, the SupportHER Football Festival is going to be great day out whether you love football or are still deciding whether it is the sport for you.”
Parents, guardians, teachers or coaches interested in finding out more can register their interest here. Then, once registrations officially open in January and all players are confirmed, players will be allocated to teams where they will compete in a series of small-sided football matches.
This festival is designed to ensure every player, no matter their experience or skill level, is actively involved throughout the day. Games will be played in a fun, supportive and inclusive environment, with equal focus on participation, skill development and enjoyment.
