Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancée Georgina Rodriguez has opened up about her stunning engagement ring, joking the £4m, 37-carat diamond was ‘the least he could offer’

Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancée has joked that the “enormous” diamond engagement ring he gave her was simply “the least he could offer.”
Georgina Rodriguez, 31, explained that after waiting years for the icon to propose, the extravagant ring felt more than justified. The model and businesswoman revealed that she had been patiently waiting for Cristiano to pop the question for nearly a decade.
Having first met Ronaldo in a Gucci boutique in 2016, Georgina said the long wait made the sparkling ring especially meaningful. “It’s gorgeous,” she remarked playfully, adding that after around ten years together, the lavish gesture was well deserved.

Ronaldo, 40, eventually got down on one knee during the summer, after which Georgina flaunted the stunning piece to her 67 million social media followers. The pair received thousands of praise and well-wishes from their admirers.
Speaking in a chat with Elle Spain published on Wednesday, Georgina continued: “The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing on my mind. It took me a long time to process the enormous stone he gave me.
“I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t open it in the sunlight until the next day.”

During the summer, jewellery specialists had estimated the colossal diamond weighed as much as 37 carats and carried a staggering, seven-figure price tag valued at up to $5million (£3.74million).
This week’s chat with Georgina marks the first occasion she has discussed publicly – aside from social media posts – the spectacular ring, reports the Mirror.
However, her partner, with whom she shares three children, opened up to Piers Morgan in a November interview about the engagement ring.

The footballer, who has donned the Manchester United jersey over 200 times across two stints, revealed: “She (Georgina) asked me for a ring to offer her because it was one of her dreams to have a good stone. And I work hard, work hard and finally I find what she love.”
Despite being 40 and still an active player for Portugal, Cristiano has never explained why he waited eight years to pop the question to Georgina, who is not only a media personality but also a businesswoman.
Now, however, the pair are quickly making arrangements for their big day. Speaking about the ceremony, mum-of-three Georgina told Elle Spain it will be “a small wedding, 100%, without a doubt.”
