Gethin Jones issues update on his future with BBC Morning Live after break from show

BBC Morning Live’s Gethin Jones has provided fans with an update regarding his return to the programme.
The Welsh broadcaster is presently performing in Cardiff New Theatre’s pantomime production of Sleeping Beauty, taking on the role of Prince Gethin of Gabalfa, which has necessitated a temporary hiatus from his morning television commitments.
Typically, he co-presents Morning Live alongside Helen Skelton, but has stepped away during the pantomime season. He has now confirmed his comeback to the breakfast show this Friday, 19th December, for a special festive edition that will also serve as the final Morning Live broadcast before the Christmas holidays.
The television host shared footage of himself strolling through Cardiff City Centre, accompanied by the intriguing caption “Update.”
Gethin proceeded to inform fans about his pantomime experience: “Good morning, just on my way to the theatre for a two show day. All going well I haven’t been booed off yet, I see that as a positive,” reports WalesOnline.
“Back is holding up. Very boring rehab but it needs to be done. Amazing crew, cast, the whole team which makes a big difference.”
He subsequently provided Morning Live enthusiasts with news about his programme future.
Gethin remarked: “Couple of messages on here from people asking about Morning Live, which is very sweet.”
He continued: “I’m very happy to say that I’ll be back with the team on Friday, I’ll be hosting on Friday with Hel. It’s the last Morning Live of the year. Then it’s a two week break and then we’re back on January the fifth.
“So, we do two shows in Cardiff on the Sunday in the panto and then I go straight back up for the new series or the new year.
“Excited to see the team on Friday, excited… to see you on Friday on screen and by then we’ll be half way through the panto run. Mad. Then it will be Christmas.
“So, yeah that’s me, just getting to the theatre, having a ginger tea. Warm up and vocal warm ups, show time.”
Fans shared that they were excited to see the presenter’s return to Morning Live. One person said: “Looking forward to seeing you on ML Friday. Safe journey to and from. In the meantime, break a leg and mind the back.”
Another added: “Although Panto time is great it will be good to see you on Friday.”
Morning Live is on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
