Eyes across the nation will be on one of the Indianapolis area’s holiday gems this week.
NBC’s “Today” morning show will be broadcast live from the Carmel Christkindlmarkt on Dec. 19.
Those with a desire to be on TV are invited to arrive at 7:30 a.m. for the broadcast segments. The market won’t be open for business at that time, though.
A camera crew will be at the market, while anchors will be off-site, in New York.
The spotlight on the market is part of the show’s Merriest Main Streets series. Carmel is the last stop of the year.
The Carmel Christkindlmarkt was named the 2025 “USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards” Best Holiday Market. It was named the top holiday market in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023, as well.
The market drew more than 494,000 visitors in 2024 to partake in German treats and ice skate. The market is free to attend, but there is a fee for ice skating and any food, drink and available from vendors.
