Cloud Gaming Sees Major Growth This Holiday Season; Thanks to Xbox & NVIDIA

If you have ever wondered how Cloud Gaming is doing so far, there are some clear indications of an upward trend, especially during the holiday season. Per the report, cloud gaming quietly had its strongest holiday season yet. Usage reportedly jumped 45% year over year, thanks to larger game libraries, expanded device support, and more aggressive subscription pushes from major platforms.
Xbox Cloud Gaming has been in the spotlight, with console players streaming games more than they did last year. That’s not all; playtime on TVs, phones, and other non-console devices also saw an upward trend. Another reason contributing to the jump in cloud gaming during the holiday season is the expansion of content.
These days, some high-profile titles are making their way to cloud gaming, which gives gamers some breathing room from the storage space dilemma, updates, and downloads. That applies to NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service, GeForce Now. The December lineup of the cloud gaming service now includes 30 playable titles, including Hogwarts Legacy, which recently hit a milestone of 40 million copies sold worldwide.
To top it off, the expansion of cloud gaming services in various countries is also helping to attract many players. Moreover, different factors like improving streaming tech and holiday discounts have also fast-tracked the adoption of cloud gaming among players out there.
That’s enough to hint that cloud gaming isn’t just a backup option now; it has its own market, and it’s growing very fast.
Are you also streaming games these days or sticking with console gaming? What are your thoughts about cloud gaming, and what’s its future down the line? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
