George Clarke has spoke about Angry Ginge winning I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here as he could follow in his footsteps and become the first social media star to win Strictly Come Dancing.

The YouTuber and TikTok star was confirmed to be a finalist in the 2025 run of the BBC One dance contest during the last results show of the series on Sunday night (December 14), following the live semi-final the previous evening.

It was confirmed that George and Alexis will be up against West End star Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin and former England footballer Karen Carney and Carlos Gu when the final takes place this Saturday (December 20) from 7pm on BBC One.

Initially reflecting on the news, George wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Absolutely insane to be typing this but thank you everyone for the votes because we wouldn’t be in the final without the support. It’s been a real journey for me (and I’ll be the first to admit at times not a pretty one) but I’m looking forward to using this last week as a bit of a celebration because this has genuinely been a life-changing experience. Love ya.”

Now, as George prepares to compete for the coveted Glitterball trophy, the social media star congratulated fellow YouTuber Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, on his recent I’m A Celeb win, as he becoming the first content creator crowned King of the Jungle in the show’s 25-year history.

He said: “It’s quite interesting because I feel like if you ask a lot of people, they say, ‘My kids love you’. I feel like a whole demographic that hasn’t really been reached on mainstream TV until recently is finally being seen. While Angryginge and I are both content creators, it doesn’t mean we’re the same demographic.

“With footballers and stage performers, we have all sorts of different things – content is just the way we are perceived. I do more comic skits, he does more streaming, and they’re completely different sides. It’s just a new medium. It’s nice to have a bit of representation there and respect. Congrats to him.”

But of his own growing fanbase, George added: “It’s really weird to walk down the street now because I had no idea. I left Elstree Studios a few weeks ago and we went to the shop and Sue came over, she’s like you’ll have to take a photo for me, and then there was a kid on his way home from school, there’s all sorts of people.”
