People will soon be able to fly more regularly to three popular Christmas markets from an Essex airport. Airline Jet2 have put on extra flights from London Stansted Airport to Krakow, Prague and Vienna as of next winter.
Regardless of whether holidaymakers are looking for a weekend, long-weekend or mid-week stay, there are multiple weekly services on sale and various flight times. The airline and city breaks operator are offering plenty of opportunity to book ahead and get something in the diary to look forward to next Christmas.
The Mirror reports that the market in Prague is one of the most photographed. It’s also reported to have £2 pints, which makes it among the cheapest in Europe.
The Holiday Expert says Krakow’s Christmas market takes place in the Old Town Square. It features a stage for live performances, as well as 80 timber huts selling seasonal gifts, Polish snacks and festive drinks.
Turning to Vienna, the Holiday Expert says the Austrian city is home to “some pretty romantic settings” with markets that “cater to all tastes and each one has it’s own unique flair”. A huge market is held in front of the grand Schönbrunn Palace and features 60 stalls with handmade crafts, gifts and festive decorations, including nativity sets.
There will be additional Monday and Friday flights to Krakow from November 27 and December 21 next year. Extra flights to Prague on Thursdays and Sundays will commence from November 26 to December 20. Additional Thursday and Sunday services to Vienna will start from November 12 until December 20.
The expansion means Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks will operate to three Christmas market destinations for Winter 2026/2027 from London Stansted Airport – Krakow, Prague and Vienna from November to December 2026. This represents over 20,000 seats on sale and means the programme has doubled compared to last year.
