Timothée Chalamet-Starring ‘Marty Supreme’ Sets A24 Presales Record As It Starts Limited Run Ahead Of Holiday Wide Release – Specialty Preview

Presales for original drama Marty Supreme are the fastest in A24 history Deadline hears with more than 65 complete sellouts across hundreds of showtimes, and over 70% of tickets sold overall, setting the Timothée Chalamet-starring drama for rarefied numbers in limited release at six theaters.
At 96% Certified Fresh with critics on Rotten Tomatoes and with a 91 Metacritic score, the film will go wide Christmas day on circa 2,500 screens.

Chalamet is Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, who goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness in this fictionalized portrait of a brash shoe saleman turned ping pong champion set in postwar NYC. Chalamet paired a chic black leather ping pong paddle with his orange suit at the LA premiere.
The majority of presale buyers are younger, 17–24 years.
Directed by Josh Safdie, the film debuts this weekend at AMC Grove, AMC Century City, AMC Burbank in LA and AMC Lincoln Square, Regal Union Square and Alamo Brooklyn in New York.

A24’s marketing campaign was anchored by a viral blimp video that quickly spread online, generating buzz alongside an actual blimp that traveled across the country. Chalamet’s personal collaboration with designer Nahmias resulted in limited-edition sweatshirts worn and shared on social media by Tom Brady, Misty Copeland, Kid Cudi, Bill Nye, and more, supported by pop-ups in New York, London and Brazil. Cast and filmmakers lit the Empire State Building orange and illuminated the Sphere in Las Vegas. The campaign includes collaborative partnerships with Regal on custom popcorn buckets, Wheaties , Airbnb for a table tennis competition, and Disney ESPN and the NBA on a Jingle Hoops spot.
