The City of Edinburgh Council have reminded motorists of this year’s parking holidays in the lead up to Christmas and New Year.
The local authority shared the dates, as well as some important guidance, with residents ahead of the holidays.
There are only four parking holidays in Edinburgh each year, and while one of them falls on Easter Monday, the remaining three all take place during the festive season.
This year motorists won’t have to pay to park in public parking bays and will be permitted to park on single yellow lines on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
It is important to note, however, other 24 hour restrictions, such as double yellow lines and disabled parking places will still be enforceable on these days.
Additionally, bus lanes and the Low Emission Zone (LEZ), do not have enforcement holidays, meaning these restrictions will remain in place during the parking holidays and will be enforceable as normal.
