Epstein files latest: Famous faces, handwritten notes and flights logs – what’s in latest documents

Here, we see a photo of Lord Peter Mandelson and Jeffrey Epstein with what looks to be a birthday cake.

The Labour veteran, who was sacked as UK ambassador to Washington in September, is sitting at a table watching Epstein blow out candles on the large, white-frosted cake.

We have blurred the face of the unidentified person in the middle. Being pictured in these Epstein files is not an indication of any wrongdoing.

Lord Peter Mandelson’s name has appeared before in documents relating to paedophile sex trafficker Epstein.

The Labour veteran was sacked as UK ambassador after newly seen emails between the pair from 2005 to 2010 showed what the Foreign Office called “the depth and extent” of their relationship.

Other previously released documents showed Lord Mandelson had put a message in a “birthday book” to mark Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003.

In May, Sky News asked Mandelson about his links to Epstein, and he said: “My knowledge of him is something I regret, I wish I’d never met him in the first place.”

He has also said he sympathised with Epstein’s victims and that he “very, very deeply” regretted continuing to associate with the paedophile for “far longer than I should have done”.

Lord Mandelson said he “fell for and accepted assurances” from Epstein, who he described as a “charismatic criminal liar”.

He said he never saw any “wrongdoing” or criminal activity while he associated with Epstein.
