Oklahoma vs. Alabama: Who has the edge in the playoffs?
Matt Hayes down Oklahoma vs. Alabama and why the Sooners might have the edge at home.
The College Football Playoff in 2025 kicks off with a rematch between Oklahoma and Alabama with ESPN’s “College GameDay” on site.
The No. 8 Sooners (10-2) defeated the No. 9 Crimson Tide (10-3) 23-21 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, just over a month ago, putting themselves into position for a CFP berth. They’ll have to do so again to avoid their season ending.
Both offenses have sputtered in recent weeks. Oklahoma is coming off back-to-back wins over Missouri and LSU by scoring 17 points, whereas Alabama fell to Georgia 28-7 in the SEC Championship game.
Oklahoma ultimately won its first matchup against the Crimson Tide with special teams and defense, forcing three turnovers, including a pick-six, despite being outgained by over 200 yards.
Here’s what to know of “College GameDay” on Dec. 19, as the pregame show is headed to Norman, Oklahoma for the big-time matchup.
