Both women were split open inside the opening two rounds as Johnson showed plenty of her trademark aggression from the outset.
Midway through round three, the referee was forced to call in the doctor to attend to the cut above Galle’s eye, but the Canadian was cleared to continue.
Johnson landed plenty of good shots throughout the middle rounds, but her team continued to tell her not to lean too far in and get caught by a counter.
Galle put up a spirited effort in the championship rounds, but it wasn’t enough to win over the officials at ringside after a 10-round clash.
“I was still confident I was winning all the rounds,” Johnson said post-fight.
“I didn’t get the job done as early as we planned, but we still got the job done.

“I was bleeding first, and then I saw her bleeding and the blood all over the ring, and I thought, here we go, here’s another bloodbath.
“I’ve been here before, and I love it.”
Johnson’s career record now moves to 19-2 at the professional level.
The 30-year-old, who was born in New Zealand, has cemented herself as one of the best female fighters in the world and a star on the rise.
Earlier this year, she became Australia’s first undisputed world champ in the four-belt era when she defeated Shurretta Metcalf in New York.
The result was the first loss on Galle’s record, and she is now 12-1 as a pro.
