This past week kicked off the beginning of awards season. It;s the time of year when the brilliant creatives behind your favorite TV shows and films receive recognition for all of their hard work. The Oscars and the Golden Globes might be the most recognizable, but there’s a smaller organization joining their ranks. The Hollywood Creative Alliance hosts the Astra Awards. They have their own film awards, but what sets them apart is their dedication to recognizing all aspects of film. In addition to their film awards they host a show specifically for the creatives behind the scenes.
The Astras
Thursday, December 11th played host to the 4th annual Astra Creative Arts Awards. The nominees for the 2025 Astra Creative Arts Awards were selected by two dedicated nominating committees of industry professionals. Including actors, artisans, critics, directors, entertainment journalists, and publicists. Each of the nominating committee members are part of the Hollywood Creative Alliance membership.
The creative teams of The Pitt, Sinners, Stranger Things, Alien World, and more were in attendance. The Pitt and Sinners led the night with 3 awards each. The emerging awards show was excited to play host to Adam Sandler who collected an award for best original song. SNLs “Adam Sandler’s Song” won him the trophy and he brought his mom to experience the evening with him.

With guests like Adam Sandler and presenters like Lenore Zann the evening was a rousing success. As award season continues it’s important to recognize the people that put in the work behind the scenes. The Astra Film Awards will take place on January 9th. Although many of the same projects will certainly receive nomination, The Astra’s aims to recognize as many films as possible. The nominations include 60 total films. All in all with such a great line up the HCA is sure to put on another magnificent event.
