Haaland cracks up team-mate with cheeky Instagram post after Guardiola warning

ERLING HAALAND had Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in tears with his playful Christmas Day dig at Pep Guardiola.

Blues boss Pep raised eyebrows this week by saying he’ll put each of his players on the scales before their trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

And Guardiola insisted that anyone deemed to have packed on too much weight over Christmas will be left at home.

He said: “The moment they arrive after three days [off] I want to see how they come back.

“They can eat but I want to control them.

“Imagine one player who was perfect arrives [weighing] three kilos more. He will be in Manchester, he will not travel to Nottingham Forest.”

Those words may have been whirring through City players’ minds as they tucked into their Christmas dinners on Thursday.

But Haaland appears to have kept things in check – and he posted a picture of his Christmas Day weigh-in to prove it.

The Instagram snap showed only the City man’s feet in a pair of white flip flops, along with scales which read 94.4kg.

And in Haaland’s typically straight-to-the-point style, he captioned it: “All good!!”

Donnarumma’s comment was among almost 10,000 responses as he posted seven crying laughing emojis.

Guardiola will be pleased to see that his star striker has kept himself in good nick for the Forest clash.

With 19 goals by Christmas, Haaland is on course to break his own single-season Premier League scoring record of 36, which he set in 2022-23.

And he’s also bagged eight more than his nearest challenger, leaving City within two points of table-toppers Arsenal as we approach the halfway point in the campaign.
