Actor Larry Lamb has acknowledged that age is having an impact on his working life as he talks about what happens when he has consecutive early starts in a row.
The 78-year-old Gavin and Stacey star, who splits his time between the UK and France, has spoken about what life is like on an average Saturday for him.
Opening up to the Telegraph about what weekends look like he described how he has his lunch followed by a siesta.
Emphasising the growing importance of rest to him, Larry added: “It’s not unusual for me to spend all day reading. I also do a lot of writing to fill my time.
“As I get older, the problem with acting is it takes so much energy. If I do three days where I have to work at 5am, I’m done, so the amount I can sign up to is reduced.”

And as for the show we all know and love, he added: “There’s no way there’ll be more Gavin & Stacey. James [Corden] and Ruth [Jones] told that beautiful story, and they’re on with their lives.”
Larry also went into some detail about his relationship status, describing himself as happily single and experssing how much he appreciates his children.
Discussing his life further, he said: “I’m definitely a happily single man these days. I’m just an old bachelor boy. It’s too late for the ladies, those days are happily over.”
Larry has been married three times in his life and has had four children with his partners including son George who has followed into him showbusiness to become a successful presenter of his own.
Last year, Larry opened up about his relationship with love to the Times, touching on the impact of his mother walking out of the family home when he was just nine years old, leaving him and his younger brother Wes.

Speaking to the publication about his relationship with the emotion and how he was driven to find love, he said: “I was desperate to be in love, but when you go deep into it I was obviously trying to replace my mother.
“Going through that abandonment was such a profound loss, there was always an element of making sure that could never happen again. And how do you do that? You back off; you have a hand in the relationship failing in some way.”
Larry added that he saw himself being alone for the rest of his life, preceding his positive comments about the situation this year. Speaking cheerfully about the matter he said: “After all the things with all these amazing women, I’m much happier having my own life and not sharing it with someone I’m almost certainly going to disappoint.
“I have to face the fact it hasn’t worked because I don’t let it work, so I finish up walking away. So I walked away and… it’s lovely.”
