One Stop staff raise £50k with Oggie 8 challenge

Colleagues from One Stop took on the Oggie 8 charity challenge across the eight Ogwen Valley Mountains in Snowdonia, Wales, to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

The 12-hour hike in September involved 163 trekkers, including 62 One Stop colleagues from different departments. Together they have raised £50,000 for the convenience retailer’s charity partner.

BBC Children in Need has been a charity partner of One Stop for 13 years, providing support for children and young people with essentials such as food, clothes and beds, as well as counselling.

Jack Taylor, community and partnerships manager at One Stop, said: “Our colleagues are very passionate about raising money for BBC Children in Need and this challenge shows their dedication. The Oggie 8 is very tough – they trained and prepared for weeks and months in advance and we’re all so proud their endurance and achievements.

“Their incredible fundraising total will help make life lighter for so many children across the UK.”

Claire Hoyle, chief campaigns and engagement officer at BBC Children in Need, added: “Over 60 colleagues from One Stop took part in the Oggie 8 for BBC Children in Need and raised an incredible £50,000 between them. One Stop colleagues and customers always go above and beyond for the charity, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who took part.

“At a time when children and young people across the UK need us most we are enormously thankful to all One Stop colleagues and customers for their brilliant support!”
