President Donald Trump suggested Democratic lawmakers have a “Trump derangement problem” amid the ongoing government shutdown.
“They have what’s called a Trump derangement problem — have you heard about that problem? Because that’s the only reason this could be possible,” Trump said.
“But I think we’re doing very well. I think they’re going to have no choice but to go along, because the country is setting records in every way, and people want it to continue that way,” he continued. “So we’re hoping the Democrats become much less deranged and that we will get the vote pretty soon. “

Trump uses baseball championship event to tout construction on new ballroom
President Donald Trump touted the progress that’s been made on his new White House ballroom while speaking at an event in honor of two Louisiana college baseball teams today.
“We’re building a ballroom. They’ve wanted a ballroom for 150 years, and I’m giving that honor to this wonderful place,” Trump said, as players from each team stood behind him.
“This was the ballroom, and this room holds 88 people, and and the new one will hold 999 people, which is a difference,” Trump continued. “I say ‘99’ because I didn’t want to crack 1,000. I didn’t want people to get concerned, because that’s getting big. But we’re going to have — we’ll have the most beautiful ballroom in the country.”
The White House started demolishing parts of the White House’s East Wing today to make room for the ballroom, The Washington Post reports.

The LSU Tigers — who won the NCAA Division I championship this year for an eighth time — are visiting the White House alongside the LSU Shreveport Pilots, who played an undefeated 2025 season and won the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics championship.

The White House has begun demolishing parts of the White House’s East Wing to make room for President Donald Trump’s ballroom, The Washington Post reports.
Trump previously said the $250 million project wouldn’t “interfere” with the existing building, according to the outlet.
