Maura Higgins has revealed she’s officially done with reality TV, turning down some of the UK’s most popular shows.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at The Spin premiere, the former Love Island star, 34, admitted she’s ticked off all the TV boxes she wanted to try.

“There’s not,” Maura said when asked if there were any shows left she’d like to do. “I’ve done all the ones I’ve wanted. I’ve turned down Big Brother, Celebs Go Dating multiple times, and MasterChef.

“I even got a call about Strictly, but it’s not on my manifest board. I’ve never danced, so I don’t know if I’d pick up the steps. I’m trying to think of the bigger ones, but honestly, I’ve ticked them off.”

She laughed when asked about her secret “manifest board”, she said “I’ll never tell. There are lots of things on it, but I won’t say. I’ve just done Traitors USA, which is out in January. It was amazing, but I can’t say more right now.”

Maura has also made her acting debut in the film The Spin, where she plays a character called Rose in the title which has been directed by Michael Head,. And she admits it was a steep learning curve.

“If you blink, you’ll miss me in the movie,” she laughed. “But I just grabbed the opportunity. I thought it would be really fun, and it was filmed in Ireland. If I were ever going to do something like this for the first time, I’d want it to be in Ireland.”

Maura revealed the biggest challenge was actually becoming another character.

The Spin is out in cinemas now

“I genuinely didn’t know what I was doing. I’m used to being around cameras, but being another character, that’s the hardest part. I enjoyed it so much though. Everyone on set was really lovely.

“I did what was asked of me, and I take direction well, I think. But I haven’t even seen the film yet, so there are nerves. It’s something I’ve never done before, and I’m like, ‘ahh!’ I’ve never acted in my life.”

Asked if she’ll take on more roles, Maura was honest. “I don’t think I’m cut out for it. I don’t think I have a natural talent for acting. I’m pretty sure if I did, my mum would’ve noticed when I used to act out scenes from movies growing up. Rose is a little bit like me anyway, but I didn’t know what I was doing.”

For now, Maura says she’s happy stepping away from reality TV and exploring new horizons, proving she’s ready to take risks even if it means leaving the comfort of the small screen behind.
