Blue Jays’ Ernie Clement is 2nd player in MLB history to start the playoffs like this

Ernie Clement hasn’t slowed down yet this postseason.
The Toronto Blue Jays’ super-utility guy just keeps on raking.
Heading into Game 7 of the ALCS, Clement has been so good to the point that he’s only the second player in MLB history to reach this feat.
This stat comes from Just Baseball on X:
The only hitters in MLB history with at least 17 hits and 2 or fewer strikeouts through 10 career playoff games are Thurman Munson and Ernie Clement.
Munson is the late, legendary New York Yankees catcher.

Clement is a former college national champion at Virginia who was a fourth-round pick, then gotten rid of by both the Athletics and Guardians, before finally latching on in Toronto.
This season, Clement is also a nominee for the Gold Glove at the utility position.
He has always been a great contact man, but in the last couple seasons, Clement has found a way to add occasional pop without losing his contact ability.
If the Blue Jays keep winning, Clement will have found his way to the heart of it.
