Key Stories to Watch

  • Mackenzie Blackwood makes his season debut against the team that traded him almost a year ago. Blackwood has not played since Game 7 of last year’s postseason series against Dallas.
  • Colorado is the only team in the league with one regulation loss, finishing 7-1-4 in October.
  • Nathan MacKinnon (18 points), Cale Makar (17), Martin Necas (16), and young Sharks center Macklin Celebrini (17) are four of the top point producers in the league.
  • Although the wins are coming as easily, the Sharks are one of the more exciting young teams to watch in the league. Along with 19-year-old Celebrini, 23-year-old William Eklund and 20-year-old Will Smith all have double-digit points through the first 11 games.
  • Gavin Brindley left the game in Vegas after taking a hit from Ivan Barbashev. That’s something to keep an eye on ahead of puck drop, to see if he’ll be healthy enough to dress in the second part of the back to back. If not, expect recent call up Taylor Makar to make his NHL debut.
