Balvinder Sopal and Jilian Caillon have defiantly shared their response to their latest dance-off experience as their Strictly Come Dancing journey continues.

The pair were devastated to find themselves in the bottom two for a second week in a row as the BBC One dance contest continued on Saturday night (October 18).

EastEnders actress Balvinder and dancer Julian were hoping to bounce back with their latest performance, a paso doble to Diablo Rojo by Rodrigo by Gabriela, for which they scored 28 out of a possible 40 points.

But following the public votes, it wasn’t enough to keep Balvinder and Julian, who joined Strictly as a pro this year, out of the bottom two, leaving them to dance again during Sunday (October 19) night’s results show.

They went up against Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova, with the former rugby star and his professional dancer having to perform their salsa to Maria by Ricky Martin again for the judges’ backing.

Following their second performances, judge Motsi Mabuse opted to save Balvinder, while head judge Shirley Ballas and fellow judge Anton Du Beke voted to save Chris, but Craig Revel Horwood was the judge with this week’s casting vote, and he decided to save Balvinder.

It means the pair are now through to Icons Week, which takes place this Saturday night (October 25), and have headed back into training this week.

As they prepare for their next performance in the famous ballroom, Julian shared a video on Instagram which showed the pair doing a little dance routine to a remix of the Destiny’s Child track, Survivor.

A message alongside the video read: “POV: surviving another dance off.” Julian also captioned the post: “Bringing this energy into week 5! #teambalian #bbcstrictly #danceoff #survivor.”

It comes as a body language expert has suggested what the problem could be for Balvinder and Julian as they seemingly struggle to get the public’s backing.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren Stanton. believes Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon are the weakest couple in terms of the bond they have built over the past few weeks, believing they could be voted off soon if they don’t build a better connection.

He said: “They have a good relationship, but they aren’t as compatible as many of the other couples and won’t go as far. Balvinder has been in the bottom two so has taken a setback and doesn’t seem as confident, but they don’t appear as tight and rehearsed as others.

“Unfortunately, if they don’t manage to build up this connection, it will start to become more and more obvious – especially compared to the other couples.”
