Strictly Come Dancing professional Julian Caillon was left burying his face in his hands following an embarrassing slip-up on live television.

The Australian dancer, who joined the ranks alongside Amy Dowden and Dianne Buswell this year, is paired with EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal on the BBC show.

The duo have sadly endured a string of setbacks as the series has unfolded, finding themselves in the dreaded dance-off on multiple occasions.

But they encountered a moment of comic relief on Loose Women today (Tuesday 21 October) that had the audience in stitches.

She started: “I’m loving every second of it, it is terrifying but it’s a lovely terrifying,” reports Wales Online.

“I love being in the rehearsal room, I love being drilled by Julian,” Balvinder told the Loose Women panel.

Suddenly realising her unfortunate choice of words, the studio burst into hysterics, with Julian frantically asking: “Is this live?”

“Welcome to Loose Women, Julian,” Jane Moore responded.

Discussing his transition from Dancing With The Stars to Strictly, Julian revealed: “Honestly, it was terrifying. I’m quite a laid back, easy going person, but I remember my first day heading into the pro rehearsals, I was really nervous, and you have those thoughts of… watching and admiring these dancers from the other side of the world and you’re about to walk in and be one of them, and you think, ‘Do I really deserve to be here? Am I good enough?’ Those sorts of things.

“But the minute I walked into the room and met the other pros and we started rehearsing together, they made me feel at home and within a day I felt like I’d known everyone for years.”

Before making his Strictly debut, Julian described it as a “dream come true”, saying: “I’ve watched it for years, especially cheering on all the amazing dancers I know and work with who’ve been part of it.”

He’s also been rallying behind his dance partner despite finding themselves in the dance-off against Ross King and Jowita Pryzstal, and Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova.

The panel opted to keep Balvinder and Julian safe on both occasions, with the professional dancer posting on Instagram following this weekend’s episode: “Well that was stressful So incredibly proud of @leesopal. Being in a dance off is tough, but backing it up 2 weeks in a row was a tough mental challenge.

“A massive shoutout to @chrisrobshawrugby and @nadiyabychkova who danced amazingly and are just simply 2 incredible human beings.

“We live to fight another day and that’s exactly what we’re gonna do. Bring on Icons week! Thank you to everyone for the support, we need you guys more than ever.”

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX. Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer at 6.20pm this Saturday.
