FC Barcelona implements the ‘Security and Control Protocol for away fans’ for the high-risk match against Olympiacos

For the Champions League group stage match that FC Barcelona will play against Olympiacos at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys today, October 21 (6.45pm CEST), the Club, as in all matches classified as high risk, will adopt the necessary security measures to ensure the safety of all members, season ticket holders, and both home and visiting supporters. Accordingly, it will also implement ticketing control measures, particularly regarding ticket sales and the presence of rival team supporters in areas other than the one reserved for their fans. The aim of these measures is to guarantee maximum safety for all attendees.
For this reason, all away supporters—in this case Olympiacos fans who do not have a ticket—are strongly advised not to travel to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, as there will be no ticket sales points. Only those in possession of a ticket managed by their Club, for the area reserved for away fans, will be allowed access.
The measures established, which form part of the standard protocol for high-risk matches as determined by the Anti-Violence Commission, are as follows:
- Tickets are nominative.
- No rival fan activities are permitted in the home supporters’ area.
- Ticket sales have been blocked in the rival fans’ country of origin via IPs and bank cards.
- Communication on the website during the sales period clearly indicated that tickets were exclusively for FC Barcelona supporters.
- Prohibition of wearing rival team clothing or identifying items outside the away fans’ designated area.
- Official identification documents must be presented for entry to the stadium (ticket and passport or ID), and shown if requested.
- Entrances 10 and 11 will be exclusively for away supporters.
- No ticket sales at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys box offices.
- Tour operators’ ticket sales are restricted.
Recommendations for all members and fans
The Club also calls on all spectators to arrive with sufficient time and have all necessary documentation ready to show upon request by Club staff or security personnel at the entrances. Starting from 4.45pm, as is customary on match days, the matchday security plan will be in operation. Vehicles will not be allowed to circulate in areas closest to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, and access to the Olympic Ring will require accreditation.
Stadium gates will open two hours before kick-off for away supporters (entrances 10 and 11) and one and a half hours before for home supporters.
Prioritize public transport or walking
To facilitate travel to Montjuïc and address mobility needs, FC Barcelona, together with the Barcelona City Council and the Urban Police, will maintain the agreed mobility plan to make it easier for members and fans to reach the Estadi Olímpic. These measures are intended to ensure smooth access to and from both Montjuïc and the stadium.
Fans are strongly encouraged to travel early and to prioritize walking or using public transport. Recommended options include the Montjuïc funicular, metro and FGC lines serving the area: Espanya (L1, L3, L8 and other FGC lines); Poble Sec (L3); Paral·lel (L2, L3); Foc (L10 South); Magòria – La Campana (L8 and other FGC lines). In addition, several TMB buses stop at Plaça Espanya (D20, D40, H12, H16, V7, 13, 23, 46, 52, 65, 79, 91, 109, 150 and 165) and Passeig de la Zona Franca (H16, V3, V5, 23, 109 and 125). Access to the Olympic Ring is also possible via escalators or taxi. Please note that there will be no cloakroom service available.
Regarding motorcycles, up to 3,500 will be allowed to park in designated areas near the stadium. For those who have no alternative but to drive, parking will be available at the Fira de Gran Via in L’Hospitalet, with prepaid reduced-rate options.
Shuttle bus service available
Fans will also be able to use two designated shuttle stops: one on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina and another at Fira de Gran Via in L’Hospitalet. This special service will run continuously from two hours before kick-off until 9.45pm, making it easier to reach the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys and return afterwards. The Club encourages all members and fans to use this service for greater comfort and to help ease mobility around the stadium.
The Club also provides information on accessibility for people with disabilities, reduced mobility, or wheelchair users, as well as their companions. Full practical information to plan your visit to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on match days is available here.
