Goals galore as PSG surge to top of Champions League table, Inter and Arsenal stay unbeaten

An astonishing 43 goals flew in across just eight Champions League matches on Wednesday (AEDT), in a record-breaking night where holders Paris Saint-Germain led the way with a 7-2 win at Bayer Leverkusen.
There were nine games in total on match day 3, with minnows Kairat Almaty and Pafos playing out a 0-0 draw. Everywhere else the net bulged multiple times.
Barcelona hit Olympicos for six, while Italian champions Napoli were rocked 6-2 by PSV.
England’s three teams in action all had impressive wins. Arsenal turned it on in the second half to beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 at home, with Victor Gyokeres scoring a double from close range as the Gunners scored four times in 13 minutes. The hosts have played 11 matches in the Premier League and Champions League this season and only conceded three goals.

Erling Haaland scored the first in Manchester City’s 2-0 win at Villarreal, while Newcastle beat Benfica 3-0 at home, including a 65 yard thrown assist by Nick Pope to Harvey Barnes for the opener.
Halfway through the matchday, three teams are unbeaten on three wins – PSG, Inter Milan and Arsenal.
