Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up as Oxford United Travel to Wrexham

Oxford United make the trip to North Wales on Wednesday night when the U’s face Wrexham in the Championship.
Gary Rowett’s side returned from the international break with just their second win of the season against Derby. It ended 1-0 but it could, and probably should, have been a lot more comfortable.

As for Wrexham, they lost 1-0 at Stoke. As a result, Phil Parkinson’s side are without a win in their last four and have one victory from their last six. Despite that run, the Red Dragons are one point above the U’s after ten league games. Wrexham have picked up two wins this season but are still searching for their first home victory.
Matt Phillips is the only Oxford player missing through injury after Ciaron Brown and Filip Krastev made a return to the squad against Derby, with the former playing the full 90 minutes. Ole Romeny is also available but didn’t make Rowett’s squad last time out.
Wrexham are without Harry Ashfield, Andy Cannon, Jay Rodriguez and Danny Ward for this fixture. Ollie Rathbone and Liberato Cacace both returned against the Potters.
Oxford’s top scorer, Will Lankshear, didn’t feature against the Rams, while Wrexham’s leading marksman, Kieffer Moore, drew a blank last time out but is one ahead with four goals from ten outings.
Given Wrexham’s recent rise through the leagues, these two sides haven’t met in a while. The U’s won the most recent meeting in 2013 when the clubs faced off in the FA Cup, but they haven’t picked up a victory in any of the previous 12 meetings, losing nine. However, that FA Cup victory did come at the Racecourse Ground.
