Another WWE Champion Suffers an Injury

The professional wrestling injury bug has impacted another WWE titleholder. Just one day after Seth Rollins was stripped of the World Heavyweight Championship due to shoulder surgery, WWE has announced that “NXT” star Sol Ruca is also injured. The company will provide an update on Ruca’s status during Tuesday’s episode of “NXT.”

Ruca currently holds the NXT Women’s North American Championship and the WWE Women’s Speed Championship. She’s also involved in a tag team with Zaria, and the two have made main roster appearances.

When Did Sol Ruca Get Hurt?
In a preview for Tuesday’s edition of “NXT,” WWE revealed that Ruca suffered her injury during Friday’s episode of “SmackDown.” Ruca and Zaria challenged Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in a losing effort. It’s unclear exactly how Ruca was injured, but WWE might have to vacate two more titles depending on the severity of this latest injury.
It’s been tough sledding for WWE on the injury front. There is even speculation of a possible injury to WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer following a botched springboard crossbody spot on “Monday Night Raw.” At this time, there’s no confirmation of Vaquer’s status.
Top “WWE Raw” star Liv Morgan has been out of action since June due to a shoulder injury. Kevin Owens has been sidelined since April with a significant neck issue. Chad Gable has also been shelved since June.
The good news is that some previously injured stars, such as Ilja Dragunov and Tama Tonga, recently made their returns to WWE TV. Rey Mysterio is also expected to return from a torn groin injury in the near future.
