A fire has destroyed around 80 percent of Windang Island, with a major effort from the NSW Rural Fire Service needed.
The firies say the call came in just before 4am on Sunday, crews involved in the response were Shellharbour, Dunmore, Albion Park, and Jamberoo.
Crews were on site for five hours to bring the blaze completely under control.
