Heavy rain and strong winds set to batter Wrexham and Flintshire

The Met Office has warned that ‘it is possible severe weather warnings will be issued for this unsettled weather’ across the country.
Sunny spells and scattered showers are expected today (October 21), with some heavy downpours at times.
The weather will be accompanied by strong winds and a maximum temperature of 16C.
The showers will gradually ease this evening, with skies clearing to allow winds to lessen overnight and for the possibility of some fog patches to develop.
The minimum temperature will be 3C.
Tomorrow will be largely dry with sunny spells and light winds, but heavy rain and strong winds will move in from the south later in the day.
The maximum temperature will be 14C.
Thursday and Friday are both expected to see heavy showers and strong winds, while colder air will arrive on Friday.
However, there will be some sunshine on Saturday.
The Met Office has warned that there is an ‘increasingly cold northerly flow to start this period’ coming in from Saturday across Wales.
Along the coast, this is expected to be ‘showery,’ while ‘there will be some brighter spells inland’.
The following week, conditions will likely turn increasingly changeable as a more westerly pattern develops.
Temperatures are forecast to be near or just below average for this time of year.
Met Office deputy chief forecaster, Tom Crabtree, said on their website: “By Wednesday evening we’ll see increasingly unsettled weather moving in from the west.
“Overnight on Wednesday, heavy rain and some strong gusty winds will move along the south of the UK.
“Accumulations of 25-40mm of rain are possible over twelve hours or so in southern counties.
“The unsettled conditions will become more widespread across the UK through Thursday with further heavy showers bringing more rainfall to many parts of the UK.
“It is possible severe weather warnings will be issued for this unsettled weather, and with some uncertainty over the exact positioning and detail of the low-pressure system, people should keep up to date with the weather forecast as it evolves this week.”
