Photo IDs

As with the 2024 elections, voters in 2025 will be asked to show a photo ID when voting
in North Carolina. Voters must show an acceptable photo ID when they check in at their
voting site during early voting or on Election Day. Voters who vote by mail (absentee-by-mail)
must include a photocopy of an acceptable ID when returning their ballot, or they
may complete a Photo ID Exception Form.

Many types of identification including driver licenses, U.S. passports, and state-approved student/public employee
IDs will be accepted.

UNCSA has been notified that UNCSA student and employee ID cards were approved by
the N.C. State Board of Elections for use as a photo ID during voting in the 2025
and 2026 elections. That means all UNCSA students and employees may use their UNCSA photo IDs when voting in 2025
and 2026.
