ATP Prize Money Leaders Update: Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner lead by nearly $7.5m as Medvedev, Ruud and Lehecka rise

The ATP Prize Money Leaders have been updated for yet another week and while most of the big names preferred to be in action at the Six Kings Slam, others were rising to the occasion as Daniil Medvedev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Casper Ruud enjoyed title success.

Medvedev defeated Corentin Moutet in the final of the Almaty Open. A tournament on the ATP 250 calendar, Medvedev won 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in the final. He also plays Vienna this week but is now sat on $2.69m after adding to his total from $2.51m the week prior.

Jiri Lehecka lost in the final of the European Open in Brussels to Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 but he still managed to rise when it came to Prize Money as he sits just behind Medvedev. The Russian sits in 15th place and Lehecka in 17th spot currently. Lehecka added from $2.48m to $2.58m.

Casper Ruud on winning in Stockholm will look to reach the top 10 this week. He sits in $3.17m compared to $3.42m for Jack Draper with Felix Auger-Aliassime passing him too for winning in Brussels. Draper won’t play for the rest of the year so will likely be passed very soon. While Ruud added $15,000 to his total from his $3.02m previously.

Auger-Aliassime added from $3.31m to now be on $3.45m so he passed Draper. Rune is another one down in 12th spot who will likely be usurped by a modicum of players due to the fact he is out for 12 months likely after a heartbreaking injury at the Stockholm Open this past week where he tore his achilles.

Other movers in the top ten in terms of adding Prize Money include Alexander Zverev who like Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Ben Shelton and Lorenzo Musetti all add small amounts just under the 10,000 mark. Zverev though will have a long way to pass his next rival in the form of Novak Djokovic who is in $4.99m despite barely playing outside of the Grand Slams.

But the solace for Zverev is that he now does enough to get away from Fritz for now. At the top though, it is pretty alarming how far ahead the others are with $7,310,000 separating Sinner and Alcaraz from the rest almost two of the top 10 together.

Even between Alcaraz at the top and Sinner in second it is nearly $4m which again is one player in the top 10 so it shows the true difference between the rest at the top of the sport and while in the WTA, it is mainly Sabalenka it is more of a breakaway pack with four players at the top.
