Australia bowl against unchanged India in search of a series win

Toss Australia opt to bowl vs India

After an invaluable Sheffield Shield hit-out ahead of the Ashes, Alex Carey has returned to Australia’s ODI team alongside legspinner Adam Zampa and quick Xavier Bartlett as the hosts aim to clinch the ODI series against India in Adelaide.Despite slumping to a seven-wicket defeat in the first ODI, India have stuck with the same XI as they look to keep the series alive at the traditionally batting-friendly venue where they’ve won their past two ODIs against Australia.

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh had no hesitation to bowl first as they unleash a new-look attack with Bartlett replacing Nathan Ellis, while Zampa squeezes out left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann, who performed well in the death overs in the first ODI.
Carey replaces Josh Philippe, who had a strong game with bat and gloves in Perth.

India resisted selecting left-arm wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav, sticking with spinning allrounder Washington Sundar after he bowled well in the opening ODI.

There had been bad weather in Adelaide in the lead-up, but much to the relief of the sell-out 50,000 crowd no rain was forecast with cool conditions expected.
