Tuesday’s (21 October) episode of Married at First Sight UK witnessed the couples meeting with the experts to discuss the previous week before choosing whether to continue or exit the experiment.

Drama erupted during the commitment ceremony, with Maeve forced to confront the experts solo whilst Grace and Ashley remained at odds over comedy.

Nevertheless, all attention focused on Julia-Ruth and Divarni, as their troubled relationship faced further examination on the programme, particularly following Julia-Ruth’s persistent assertions that she lacks physical attraction to her spouse.

The couple’s discussion with the experts was reserved for the finale, but during Nelly and Steven’s session, Julia-Ruth found herself in the spotlight when Nelly made a startling revelation about her motives on the E4 series.

Following Julia-Ruth’s confession at a dinner gathering that Steven appeals to her and she finds him attractive, Nelly had considerable commentary regarding her behaviour and disclosed additional allegations she’d encountered, reports OK!.

“It sounds really petty this, but, not at the dinner party this time but the dinner party before, she just laughed a little bit too loudly,” Nelly said.

“Just, little things like that. Hold eye contact for a little bit too long. I thought, no Nelly you’re being crazy.”

She proceeded to disclose that she’d been told Julia-Ruth’s strategy involved staying on the programme for an additional two weeks, despite her marriage struggling, as she hoped to ultimately pair up with Steven.

Nelly revealed: “But, it’s transpired that at last week’s commitment ceremony, she met some people from this group and said that she’d really fancied Steven and that she needs to stay for two more weeks because she hopes she gets him for partner swap.”

Following the commitment ceremony, Nelly expressed doubts about Julia-Ruth’s sincerity in a piece to camera.

“Julia-Ruth brought up that she wanted to couple swap with Steven. How can at one moment you be giving me advice and making sure that I’m OK, but then in that same day, a few hours later, telling people you fancy Steven and that you’ve got to stay in the game for two weeks so you can couple swap with him?” she questioned.

Viewers were left gobsmacked by the revelation, with one tweeting: “Julia-Ruth wanted to stay two more weeks to take Steven away from Nelly? #MAFSUK,” while another posted: “Not Julia-Ruth getting outed for wanting to stay to couple swap with Steven, makes sense now #MAFSUK.

“There’s gotta be something going on between Julia-Ruth and Steven. Steven looked way too happy at Julia-Ruth’s answer at the dinner party and she’s now being way too defensive and dramatic at the commitment ceremony #MAFSUK,” commented a third viewer.

It comes as Julia-Ruth took to Instagram after Monday’s episode to admit “I think I lost myself in this process”, adding: “I hurt a lot of good people who loved me and to this day am still making amends with those I’ve wronged and will continue to do so.”

Married at First Sight UK airs from Sunday until Thursday on E4 at 9pm
