Hugely popular presenter being considered by Strictly bosses to replace Tess Daly & Claudia Winkleman

ACTOR and presenter Bradley Walsh is one of the stars being considered by Strictly Come Dancing bosses to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as a host.

The move would be a nod to the Bruce Forsyth showman era of the BBC ratings winner — with The Chase host Bradley, 65, likely to be joined by at least one female host such as Oti Mabuse, 35, or Fleur East, 38.

Telly veteran Bruce fronted the dance contest alongside Tess from its inception in 2004.

He stepped away in 2014 three years before his death at 89.

A source said: “Bradley is a real pro and has brilliant experience hosting live shows.

“His name has come up a few times with execs as many think he would be great.

“Of course, he would have a female alongside him as part of a duo.

“Oti and Fleur are both frontrunners and also have great experience.

“Bradley is popular with both old and young viewers and would bring some humour and an old school showbiz quality.”

He already has a packed schedule hosting ITV shows The Chase and Beat The Chasers, as well as BBC’s Gladiators.

However, Bradley has previously admitted he has two left feet.

He said: “I’m not a dancer. I don’t even think I’m a good dad dancer. I’m a bad dad dancer which is even worse.”

A BBC spokeswoman declined to comment but said the broadcaster would announce plans for the 2026 series of Strictly “in due course”.
