1000 Runs In Just 23 Innings, Pratika Rawal Equals All-Time WODI Record

The Delhi-born opener equalled Lindsay Reeler’s all-time WODI record of fastest to 1,000 runs
Pratika Rawal = Consistency
The 25-year-old Indian opener continued her ascent in Women’s ODI Cricket, racking up her 1,000th run in just 23 innings in the clash against New Zealand, on October 23 (Thursday). Rawal’s incredible start to her WODI career also helped her equal a record, joining Australia’s Lindsay Reeler for the quickest to 1000 runs.
Despite concerns over her strike rate, Rawal has had quite a strong start to this year’s World Cup, with scores of 37, 31, 37, 75 and 6 in the five games thus far. Rawal, who came into the side at Shafali Varma’s expense, has already shown how consistent she can be, with her runs coming at an average of nearly.
Fastest to 1,000 runs in WODIs
23 inns – Pratika Rawal (IND)*
23 inns – Lindsay Reeler (AUS)
25 inns – Meg Lanning (AUS)
25 inns – Nicole Bolton (AUS)
Furthermore, Rawal has smashed seven half-centuries and a century in her young international career, proving that she is the right counterpart to the attacking Smriti Mandhana.
However, on a personal level and from India’s standpoint, the duo got off to a very slow start in their important clash against New Zealand. When Rawal got to her 1,000th ODI run, India scored just 40 runs after 9.2 overs.
