Hacking group takes credit for post on Mike Graham’s Facebook account

A left-wing hacking group has claimed responsibility for taking control of Mike Graham’s social media account to make a single late-night post one evening this week.

Simon Williams, as spokesperson for the hacking collective calling themselves ‘Almost Anonymous’ told reporters, “We are targeting high-profile right-wing accounts with a series of phishing and social engineering programmes, and when we’re finally in their social media accounts, and have complete access to their phone’s entire camera roll, THAT’s when we strike.

“Our plan is the same every time we hack these right-wing personalities – we will post something that sounds like the account owner after one-too-many beers.

“It’s the perfect plan.”

Reporters have asked why the hackers would go to the trouble of hacking an account like Mike Graham’s, and then not attempt to maximise the financial returns.

Williams went on, “We’re different. Other hacking groups will download material from your accounts and devices, and then ultimately blackmail the owner, or post scams and get-rich-quick schemes to dupe their thousands of followers out of their hard-earned cash – but not us.

“When we invest the time and effort in hacking these accounts and devices, we are only interested in showing people what these social media personalities would be like if they finished that bottle of wine they opened earlier in the evening.

“If anyone looked at our post and thought ‘Christ, Mike should have stopped drinking a bit earlier tonight’, then we consider that a job well done.

“You’re welcome, Internet.”
