India are currently taking on New Zealand in their sixth match of the Women;s World Cup 2025 at the DY Patil International Stadium in Navi Mumbai. This is a must-win game for India as a loss would mean that they wpould be virtually knocked out of the mega tournament that is being held on their home turf. One of the players who India would depend on for a win in this game is none other than star opening batter Smriti Mandhana. She has not disappointed at all as she has carried on her stupendous form to score her third consecutive half-century. She has managed to break a world record during this knock.

Smriti Mandhana has hit two sixes in her innings so far as she raced to a half-century. With these, she now has 29 sixes in 2025. She has become the batter with the most number of sixes in Women’s ODIs in a single calendar year. She breaks the record of South Africa’s Lizelle Lee, who hit 28 sixes in 2017.

Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal has stitched another century stand as they have gotten India off to a brilliant start against New Zealand. The duo have managed to put on their 7th century opening stand , which is the most by an Indian pair in Women’s ODIs, and the joint second-most in history.

Mandhana and Rawal have stitched five century stands in 2025 itself. This is the most number of century partnerships in a calendar year by a pair. They share the record with Australia’s Belinda Clark and Leisa Knightley, who stitched five century stands in 2000.
