Elizabeth Olsen Just Revealed an MCU-Shattering Scarlet Witch Movie Idea

Despite being one of the strongest characters in the MCU, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch has not been seen for years in the franchise. But recently, at Spacecon San Antonio (via @MCUFilmNews), she revealed how she would love to work with Aubrey Plaza again, who played the role of Lady Death in the Disney+ miniseries Agatha All Along. She said:
I would love to get to work with Aubrey again.
Seeing that Plaza plays the role of literal Death in the franchise now, this might turn out to be how Olsen makes her return to the MCU after the events of Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness. And with Marvel dropping subtle hints recently about the actress’ character, it seems like we might see her sooner than later.

With the release of the upcoming Marvel Studios miniseries VisionQuest set for 2026, Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum revealed that it will be the third part of the WandaVision series’ narrative. In an interview with Brandon Davis, the executive claimed that he loved the original series, and the upcoming one will be a sequel, saying:
WandaVision is one of my most favorite things ever, watched it 3 times. So it has to be as good. It ties in directly to WandaVision.
At the same time, the company has been busy on their socials, dropping montages and hype packages on platforms like X about Scarlet Witch’s legacy and incomprehensible show of power in the MCU over the years. Most of them are described as an unstoppable force, while other posts implore you to check her actions in all the MCU films and TV shows released over the years.

Therefore, combining this information might prove to be a hint that, despite even Olsen being confused about the fate of Scarlet Witch in the past, she may finally be returning to the franchise in all her glory. And with Death being part of the overarching narrative, we may even get to see Olsen and Plaza again soon.

Why Scarlet Witch’s Presence in the Upcoming Avengers Films Is Crucial
So far, in the sense of the overarching narrative of the MCU after Phase 4, Scarlet Witch’s story has been the longest-running one yet, overtaking Loki.
Combined with her reality-manipulating powers we have seen thus far, it’s safe to assume that she’s one of the most credible threats against Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Along with her powers, she will also bring the sense of MCU legacy from the past that made the franchise what it is, in addition to bridging the gap between new characters and the past ones. Lastly, she also has the potential to bring the emotional aspect of loss and redemption to the story, making the stakes even more grave and impactful.
