Foo Fighters Unveil New Song “Asking for a Friend”: Stream

Foo Fighters have released a new song, “Asking for a Friend,” alongside the announcement of their upcoming North American stadium tour with Queens of the Stone Age.
The new track follows earlier 2025 cut “Today’s Song” and takes a decidedly heavier approach; recalling both the urgency of their first two albums and the explosive rock found in Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, “Asking for a Friend” finds Dave Grohl and co. fighting against disillusionment and loss of hope over heavy guitars and a waltzing groove. “What is real? I’m asking for a friend,” Grohl howls before the band kicks it into high gear and races to the climax with a double-time solo section. Stream “Asking for a Friend” below.

“‘Asking for a Friend’ is a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear,” Grohl said of the new song. “Searching for ‘proof’ when hanging by a wish until the sun shines again.” It won’t be all we hear from the Foo Fighters in the coming months, as Grohl signed off his statement by saying, “One of many songs to come.”
